Phantom Breaker preview trailer
Publisher 7sixty has released a preview trailer for 2D fighter Phantom Breaker, developed by 5pb in Japan. The gameplay movie coincides with the launch of the official website and announcement of the game's release on Xbox 360 in North America on February 28. Persona 4: Ultimate in Mayonaka Arena opening movie
Atlus has posted the intro movie to their arcade fighter Persona 4: The Ultimate in Mayonaka Arena, developed by BlazBlue's Arc System Works. Entering the ring are Persona 4 protagonists Yu (the silent hero), Chie, Yosuke, Teddy, Yukiko, Naoto and Kanji. The title is slated for release on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 later this year, with music by Shin Megami Tensei series composer Shoji Meguro.

Square Enix teases Battle SQ arrange album
French music news site Musica Ludi stumbled upon the teaser trailer for Square Enix's next installment in the SQ series of arrange albums, titled "Battle SQ." While still shrouded in mystery, clips from the trailer uploaded to YouTube suggest source material will include battle tracks from Live A Live, Final Fantasy IV and IX, Chocobo's Mysterious Dungeon, Seiken Densetsu 3 and Final Fantasy Legend.

Mega Ran and Lost Perception release Black Materia: The Remixes
Hip-hop artists Mega Ran and Lost Perception have released their latest album, titled "Black Materia: The Remixes." The 21-track album, available to stream in full and purchase on Bandcamp, is based on the Sony PlayStation role-playing game Final Fantasy VII, composed by Nobuo Uematsu, and centers on rap songs about protagonists Cloud Strife, Barret Wallace and Yuffie Kisaragi. Earlier today, Tomas Dvorak (Floex) uploaded an abstract three-minute music video described as a self-portrait. The musician is responsible for the award-winning game soundtracks to Amanita Design's point-and-click adventure titles Samorost 2 and Machinarium. Sony Computer Entertainment has sent out a promotional package to members of the press today including an apple and a new trailer for PlayStation Vita title Gravity Rush. The live action movie dramatizes the way the direction of gravity can be shifted in the game, depicting baskets of apples floating and falling through the air. Music for the handheld title is by Kouhei Tanaka of Resonance of Fate.

Capcom has announced four exclusive playable characters for the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita releases of Street Fighter X Tekken. They include the NES cover art rendering of Mega Man, with potbelly and handgun intact, together with Cole MacGrath of Infamous, Sony mascots Toro and Kuro, as well as Namco legend Pac-Man. Music for the PlayStation Vita gravity-defying game, developed by Sony Computer Entertainment, is by Kouhei Tanaka, whose previous credits include Resonance of Fate and Sakura Wars: So Long, My Love. 47 music tracks in total are planned for the album.
